The Ice Den Figure Skating program offers an exceptional schedule and staff to meet all of your training needs. Each skater and their Ice Den coach define individual goals. From recreational figure skating to elite levels of competition, a custom program can be built to reach your dreams! Private instruction and the Ice Den Figure Skating Academy are an excellent supplement to Learn to Skate group classes. 45-minute practice times and private instruction are two independent costs. Private lessons may also be purchased in 15-, 20- and 30-minute increments. Freestyle session packages are sold in increments of 10 and 20 sessions and are available at the Ice Den service desk.

All figure skating instructors are members of United States Figure Skating (USFS), the Professional Skaters Association and the Ice Skating Institute (ISI).

Open Freestyle
Practice sessions dedicated to Learn to Skate enrollees and figure skaters of all levels. These ice times provide an opportunity for skaters of all levels to practice the skills taught in their group or private lessons. Private and semi-private lessons may be taken during these times.

Low Freestyle
Practice sessions dedicated to figure skaters who have passed their ISI Freestyle 4 test or USFS Pre-Juvenile Free skate test or below. Private and semi-private lessons may be taken during these times.

High Freestyle
Practice sessions dedicated to figure skaters who have passed their ISI Freestyle 5 test or USFS Juvenile Free skate test. These ice times are for advanced figure skaters. Private lessons may be taken during these times.

During the Fall, Power Skating is only offered as a session. Skaters purchase an eight week session, skating on Mondays and Thursdays from 4:00-4:45pm. Figure skaters who have passed ISI Freestyle 3 or above are invited to join in this class.

Our Synchronized Skating Team, The RDV Stars, practice from Fall 2011-June 2012. Practice sessions are on Saturday mornings from 10:15-11:00am. The RDV Stars participate in both RDV Sportsplex Ice Den ice shows, and compete in at least three synchronized competitions throughout the season. Fees for the Synchronized Team are covered under a contract which includes coaching fees, team ice show costumes, competition dress, team apparel, ice show entry fees, RDV Spring Classic Team entry fee and ice time. Fees for out of town competitions and individual travel expenses are not included. Contact the Skating Programs Coordinator or the Skating Programs Team Leader for information regarding payments.
